Excerpt: Capital investors are beginning to realize the advantages of building for the long-term; considering a structure’s impacts on waste, environment and productivity in the analysis of costs and benefits. But for many businesses, the costs of exhibiting their environmental leadership through green building are still prohibitive. In response to this trend, various organizations have established grants and other incentive programs to promote sustainable building. Likewise, The Green Building Re$ource Guide seeks to encourage this concept by serving as a clearinghouse of funding resources, thereby simplifying the process of financing green building design and construction projects.
